Unexpected Wisdom
What can we learn from a frog?
Turns out, you can find wisdom in unlikely places if you are willing to look, maybe even under a lily pad.
Kermit the Frog recently gave the commencement speech at Jim Henson’s alma mater, the University of Maryland. He shared some timeless insights with the newly minted graduates. Here are a few that struck me:
Find your people - always see the spark in each person, and share your own spark
Take a leap - don’t step on others or leap over them, rather grab another’s hand and leap together
Make connections - stay connected to your people and to your dreams
Kermit urged these students, most of whom started college during the pandemic, to keep believing in happy endings. To which I would add: believe in being happy now, with where you are, who you are, and who you are with, finding the joy in the every day, not just at the end of the story.
What unexpected places are you finding joy this week?
Pillar: Meaningful connections
Value: Love
Micro-habit: Look for wisdom in unexpected places
